Over de hele wereld zweren toonaangevende chef-koks bij de buitengewone stoofprestaties van de cocottes van Staub. Dankzij de combinatie van gietijzer en email houden deze potten de warmte optimaal vast en geven ze deze geleidelijk aan het voedsel af. Oorspronkelijk werden cocottes in Frankrijk gebruikt om kip in te garen. Omdat deze potten verbeteren telkens wanneer ze worden gebruikt, gaf men ze vaak door van generatie op generatie. Tegenwoordig zijn cocottes echte allrounders: ze zijn ideaal voor traditionele stoofschotels, zoals goulash of ratatouille, maar ook een mals gebraad of een heerlijk geurende groenteschotel tovert u er in een handomdraai mee op tafel. Dankzij het speciale 'druppelontwerp' van het deksel druppelt het gecondenseerde vocht gelijkmatig terug op het voedsel, dat daardoor niet uitdroogt tijdens het garen. De ovale cocotte is gemaakt van zwart gietijzer en aan de binnenkant met matzwart email afgewerkt. Die materiaalcombinatie verdeelt de warmte evenredig over
